Baking soda is known for being a staple in the kitchen but it’s also one of the most useful and not to mention inexpensive ingredients around when it comes to DIY skin care!

Face Wash
Combine 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of warm water and stir to create a paste, Splash your face with water, grab some of the mixture and gently wash your face in a circular motion. Then, rinse your face with warm water and pat your face dry.

Foot Soak
The skin on our feet is usually the last place we think of when it comes to baking soda for skin care but they need love too! After a hard day or even a not so hard day, treat your feet to a relaxing soak of baking soda and warm water. Using baking soda as a foot soak will not only get your little tootsies squeaky clean but it will also soften your skin! Mix ½ cup of baking soda for every gallon of water in your basin, soak for about a half hour and follow it up with a thick cream for sparkly and smooth skin!

Lush Shiny Hair
Baking Soda is amazing at removing any residue on your hair after you wash it, to create an invigorating shampoo that gets rid of any build up, mix one tablespoon baking soda with your shampoo, then wash and condition as usual!

Some people find that plain baking soda on its own is grainy enough to be a gentle scrub. You can also add a teaspoon to your cleanser or add a tablespoon each of baking soda and water along with 2 teaspoons of oat flour to get a deeper cleaning.

We can all easily learn how to use baking soda for skin and get great results, I love discovering cheap and easy ways to make my very own beauty products, Keep in mind that although baking soda is natural, some skin types tend to not love it as much others, so always test it out first and limit using these treatments to once a week.

Kellie, did you ever have problems with acne? If yes, what did you do? any cheap tricks for that? Maybe you could open a forum where everyone suffering/suffered from acne/acne scars can share their tips. what do you think?

Hello there, I have never suffered from Acne, only small breakouts as a teenager, I do recommend Fresh Aloe Vera for Acne, if you can check the beauty section of the site, I posted about this a couple of weeks back, are you suffering? have you visited a dermatologist? are you eating a good diet?
