Beat the Heat with Shine Free Summer Skin.

Shine is usually a problem if you have oily or combination skin, but when the weather gets hot, especially here in Qatar not even women with dry skin are spared from unwanted shine.

Check out my helpful tips below, to fight the shine and keep your skin beautiful and Matte all summer long.

Use a Toner:
Make sure your using a toner in your beauty routine, this makes a big difference and effectively helps to fight the shine, each morning I use Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Deep Cleaning Astringent, which isn’t classed as a toner, however its very similar, this product is excellent for faces prone to excessive sebum secretion and oiliness, I have been using this now for over a year, its its a great low priced option at QR 18.00.

Avoid Foods and Drinks That Make You Sweat:
Adjusting your diet to your skin’s needs is the right way to control shine and excessive oil production.
This means saying no to fried and spicy foods, and restricting coffee and hot beverages in the summer.
Vitamin A can help control oil production, eat foods that are rich in it, these include sweet potatoes, carrots, Kale, Tuna Fish & Mango’s

Use Blotting Paper:
Instead of abusing powder to keep shine in check, start using blotting paper that absorbs the extra oil, while keeping your makeup in place.
A good choice is Boots Skin Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets, QR 18.00 Keep them in your bag at all times for a quick anti-shine solution.

Avoid Clogging your skin with Makeup:
Using too much makeup will clog your pores and increase shine, regardless of the weather.
I find using a good primer helps, I use Too Faced ‘primed & poreless’ QR 180.00 I have been using this for a couple of years now, I just put this on my skin after cleansing toning & moisturising, and add a sweep of translucent powder and bronzer over the top, if you really feel the need for a bit more coverage, try using a tinted moisturizer or BB cream with a lighter texture, Garniers BB cream is a great low priced option.

One of my all time fave products.
