Salam SSS15 Campaign

Last month I was asked to be part of a Campaign for Salam Stores with my oldest Son.
At first I was hesitant, as I prefer to be behind the scenes rather than in front, however, after a couple of days I changed my mind and decided to go for it, at least I would get some pictures of me, my Son and the baby bump, on and quite possibly have fun too 🙂

The idea behind the campaign, was to bring ‘real faces’ from the community of ‘fashion bloggers’ to bring their individual style to the campaign through images and a styled video.

It was a major challenge for me to find clothes which fitted me, and which were ‘culturally’ respectful, my bump makes every shorter dress look miniscule, which limited me alot with expressing my style, after a couple of hours of trying on so many outfits, I chose a Matthew Williamson maxi dress with a neon belt which had such a 70’s vibe to it, something I would not have normally went for, however, it actually worked, it felt comfortable, light and perfect for Summer.
The second look was a Red Valentino Dress and some seriously foxy Heels, worn with a bright vibrant Emanuel Ungaro coat, the dress was so short though as you can see below, we hid this on the final images.

My Son knew exactly what he wanted to wear, ‘A Bow Tie’ Mum, he said, he is addicted to a movie called Little Rascals where the kids wear these, so it was his mission to find something similar, When he found he was over the moon, he looked so adorable and cheeky at the same time
For the second look he chose a Dior shirt and shorts, I really loved these together, for the age of 5, he really seems to know what looks good and what doesn’t.

The wonderful David from BlueBrush (my regular) hairdresser was in charge of the hair for the shoot, I absolutely loved the style he gave to my Son, he loved it so much that he didn’t want to wash his hair for school the next day (bless him) he thought it looked super cool.
My hair was waved for the shoot, which isn’t my usual style, I love it straight and messy, but I went for it, for a change, sometimes it’s good to experiment, I think it worked well with the Maxi Dress as it had a 70’s vibe, but for the shot with My Son, I felt it made me look like a ‘Old Mum’.

The Photographer was Sebastien Jardini, a well respected Parisian Photographer who was flown in from Paris for the campaign, he has captured images for some the worlds most respected Fashion Magazines, so it was a pleasure to have someone with such experience here with us, taking our pictures, he’s also such a fun, super cool guy, who makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera, my Son, had alot of fun with him.
