Super Duper, Super Food, Quinoa!

I just wanted to share one of my Favourite foods with you, as its absolutely awesome!
Quinoa is seriously the best wholegrain out there (its actually a SEED), I still find, that not many people are aware of it.
I am using this more and more, instead of brown rice, which takes ages to cook.

Why is it awesome?

It cooks fast – 15 – 20 minutes
Its so versatile – throw in vegetables, homemade sauce, seafood, anything!
High in fiber
Gluten free.
It’s a complete protein, meaning it has ALL of the essential amino acids (like meat!)
Low glycemic (it’s easy on your blood sugar)
Good source of riboflavin, calcium, vitamin E, iron, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, folic acid and beta carotene.

Available in most major supermarkets, this is well worth introducing into your diet.

    There are lovely rice cakes with quinoa from Biona available at supermarkets. Nice option to snack on.
